Pakistan is progressing in the field of technology and science with the help of is hardworking scientists and engineers. There is a remarkable progress in every field. Education is also increasing day by day. The use of technologies becomes common in Pakistan. Mobile phones and internet access has been available in Pakistan since 1990s. In the start PTCL provided its services but now there are many telecommunication services working in Pakistan.

Now almost each and everyone in our country are aware of mobile phones. We can see a remarkable increase in mobile usage in Pakistan since past eight years. There are almost 3000000 to 90 million mobile users in Pakistan and this number is increasing day by day. $ 16,180,040,795 has been spent on cell phone during2001-2008. The mobile users are increasing and spending money on just use if mobiles giving about 10% of the trade deficit in current year. Everyone one want the mobile phone handling many applications and functions. There are many international companies in our country who have launched there series of mobile phones. Nokia, Samsung, Sony Ericson, Motorola and LG are the largest companies whose mobile phones are launched in Pakistan. These companies have mobile phones of different styles and types depending on the functions and advancement. Each company has a range of mobile phones series. People use mobile phone for many purposes. Text messaging, receiving calls, playing games, listening music any many more activities make mobile phone a good choice. Now mobile TV and easy access to net through mobile also make it more important then any other device. Mobile camera is also of great benefits as it replace digital camera. A digital camera just only take photos but a single mobile can be use for various proposes along with photo session. Video chatting is also becoming popular.

One serious and inexcusable factor is that there is no mobile phone manufacturer company in Pakistan. This made very negative impact on our economy. Ministry of communication has to take serious steps either control mobile usage in Pakistan or establish mobile phone companies. The cellular companies like Ufone, jazz, Telenor, Warid provide many costless packages. These packages are indeed beneficent for us but text messaging becomes a cancer in our youth community. Our youth keep themselves busy in messaging or call packages instead of concentrating on their studies. It is hour of need to control all such activities.
